I really like the introduction to the new book “All in Good Time” by Tara Kuczykowski (Deal Seeking Mom) and Mandi Ehman (Life Your Way)
This book isn’t about frugal living or financial management. And it’s not about tackling your time management skills so you can be more productive. What it is is a collection of tips and shortcuts that are sure to save you time and money here and there, as you choose, so that you’ll have more of both to spend on the things and people that really matter to you.
Don’t we all want to spend our time and money on the things that really matter most?! This book is a great little compilation of tips and ideas that you can implement into your life to help you do just that. If you are a “newbie” in this area or a veteran, I know there will be some new insights for you to gain. Here are just a few tips that I picked up on my first read (I am sure I will go back to it again, and again for more ideas):
- Many utility companies charge higher usage rates from noon to 7 pm, so plan on running the dishwasher or washing machine early in the morning or late at night to conserve energy (= save $!)
- Bought something at Old Navy and now it is a lower sale price? Take your receipt in for a price adjustment. The window on this offer is 7-10 days after the purchase, even valid on “one-day wonder” pricing.
- Use RebateTracker.com to organize and track your Mail in Rebates (You better believe I will be researching this one to post about!)
- Tomatoes should not be be refrigerated. Store them on your counter.
That’s just a sampling of the great tips in All in Good Time. Find ideas for saving and organizing in every room of the house! And I love the great appendix packed full of homemade cleaning products, ingredient substitutions, decluttering tips and online resources for everything under the sun.
You can currently buy All in Good Time on Amazon: $10.98 for the paperback (Super Saver eligible with $25 purchase) or the Kindle edition for just $9.99.
OR…The great people at Berkley Publishing have provided us with a Paperback copy to giveaway to one lucky reader. We will be trying out a Rafflecopter widget for the first time on this giveaway. Good ideas. Does book go into my details such as when will my particular power company go with time of use pricing, so I can benefit? “Smart meter” has been in for over a year. So far no benefits & no ability to monitor my own usage in real time as promised
