EXPO Makes Mary’s 5 Seconds of Fame Dream Come True!

So yesterday I had a friend ask me if I was in a commercial for Quaker Oatmeal Squares cereal.  She said she had seen me (or my twin) on an ad on AOL’s news video pages.  At first I thought, of course not.  But then I remembered that I had done an EXPO review of the cereal (which truly is one of my all time faves).  When you upload video reviews on EXPO, you do sign a waiver stating that the host company may use you images in their advertising.  I always said, “yeah right!”.  But low and behold, Kristy told me she saw the ad too!  LOL!  This is just quite humorous to me, the undergrad Theatre major.  So if you want your chance at 5 seconds of fame, upload your EXPO videos today!  And by the way, from now on I will be doing my hair and make-up before filming a video.  Yikes, I look like a hot mess!

The ad is excerpts from 5 EXPO reviews. If you want to check out what the ad looked like right on the AOL site, go here.  You might have to refresh the page to get the ad to play.   And to see my full unedited video review for EXPO, check out the player below.

Currently we have a Giveaway going on for a $15 Amazon E-Card, courtesy of my EXPO refer a friend monthly raffle win. Many of the entrants are saying they have not joined because it seems too time intensive or they already do online surveys. So let me break it down to give you a different perspective on the program. Most video reviews will earn you 500 points. At 600 points you can redeem for a $5 E-Card to Amazon (or a ton of other Gift Cards). That makes the 500 point video worth about $4.16. That 1 video from start of recording, to writing the review to uploading it to EXPO, probably takes 20 minutes.  And usually I do several at once to make best use of my time.  It’s like getting paid over $12 an hour.  I have yet to find an online survey company that boasts such a high return.

So I highly encourage you to give it a try.  At the least you will earn some great gift cards and maybe you will even become a “star”!
