ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED- WATCH FOR WINNER POST on 12/28!
A few weeks ago, I saw an offer on a daily deal site for a product that intrigued me. I thought about buying it, but I kind of wanted to hear someone’s personal experience with it first. I actually decided to contact the company and they graciously sent two of these little wonders to me- one to try and one to giveaway.
Has the suspense been enough?! The product is called The Knot Genie. My daughter has curly hair. Every morning is a battle to tame her wild locks. That is why the Knot Genie detangling brush caught my attention. The Knot Genie’s “bristles” are flexible and are varying sizes to help move through hair without tugging. When hair is wet, Knot Genie is especially effective at smoothly getting through the tangles. Dry hair is still a little more difficult, in my opinion. Is it a complete miracle worker and my child sings the “Alleluia Chorus” while I brush her hair? Well maybe not. On my daughter’s worst bird’s nest days, there is still a little whining while I brush her hair with the Knot Genie, but I would say it has significantly decreased. In the video on their site, the hairstylist made a great observation. I definitely notice there is much less hair left in the brush when we are done. (and sometimes hardly any). That means her hair is not being ripped off her head! Another thing I have notice since starting to use the Knot Genie is that my daughter will actually let ME brush her hair. She used to only like daddy to brush it (I guess he is a little more gentle and patient with his little princess). Now in the morning I say “time to brush hair”, she gets me the Knot Genie and I don’t hear “awee, I don’t want YOU to do it”. If you are like me and just at your absolute wits end with the daily task of hair brushing, then definitely check out the Knot Genie. And one of you lucky readers will get one Free! Looks like something I want to try- but not invest if it doesn’t work for my daughter- not curly hair, but straight with knots. I need to try something!

I thought it was interesting that uneven bristles were the trick to undoing tangles without pulling the hair…neat product!

I feel like I haven’t truly brushed my daughter’s hair in months- this would be great. Less arguing, I’m sold!

Looks interesting. But like to see it on dry hair too.

I was laughing at the beginning of the lady chasing her kid around trying to brush her hair. That’s me every morning with all three of mine. Would love to try this.
