Is Your Stockpile Overflowing?

Money Saving Mom has a great post out right now about what to do with all your surplus in your stockpile. Obviously, one idea is stop buying!! But if you are like me, a free product or one that you get paid to buy is hard to pass up. The first thought is to give it away!! Family, friends, shelters, military etc…. Another idea is to use the items in gift baskets; household cleaning products in a laundry basket for newlyweds, personal care items in a shower caddy for a girl going off to college. But my favorite is the diaper cake! These are so fun to make! And can be a bargain of a gift if you watch your coupons and sale match ups. The one in the picture I made for my sister in law's shower, it was a hit!

What do you do with your surplus?

Play SoBe Heads or Tails Game

I am not one to pay actual money for bottled or flavored water.  That is why I love SoBe products.  They often are on sale BOGO or my favorite is the 10 for $10 + $5 gift card promo at Target.  Right now Sobe is running a promotion called SoBe Heads or Tails Instant Win Game.  Look for the bottles with a black cap, enter the code online and see what you won.  But even if you don't have a cap, you can play once everyday!  Prizes include itunes gift cards, ipod nanos, t-shirts and B1G1 coupons.  Almost every time I have played, I have gotten a buy one get one free printable coupon (bricks- so hit the back button to print a 2nd time!).  The initial coupon limit was 4, but it looks like it has been reset!  The coupons do not expire till 8/31/10 so be on the lookout to score FREE SoBe.  CVS will have them B1G1 next week.  Pair it with the B1G1 coupon and- voila FREE SoBe!

Let us know your favorite flavor (yumberry pomegranate!!) and if you win!

Groupon: 60% off at Aveda Institute

A few weeks ago we told you about a great Groupon deal at Aveda Institute (50% discount).  If you missed it last time (or you want more!).  Today's Groupon deal is a 60% savings at Aveda Institute.  Purchase a $50 gift certificate for only $20!  The certificate is valid for a year, can be used at either Aveda Institute location and must be used all at one time.

Unfamiliar with Aveda Institutie?  A hair cut  is $19, color is $25 and a spa pedicure is $25.  Each service starts with a consultation and complimentary chair massage.  Instructors evaluate the services to insure quality work.

Unfamiliar with Groupon?  Each day a new deal is available.  If enough people sign up for the deal- you can cash in!

What services will you get on your trip to Aveda Institute?

UPDATE:  This is a gift certificate for $50.  The balance does not carry over and therefore needs to be spent THAT day the services are rendered.  Be sure you want to "spend" $50 in services in order to get the best deal.  This would mean you could pair something like a haircut, spa pedicure and an eyebrow wax.  Not bad for $20!

CVS Success! All this for $1.07!

I did my CVS run this morning (probably should have waited till Thursday to see if an e-mail coupon came out- but I couldn't wait!) I did the Schick and Aveeno ECB deals. My Favorite Day of the Year is Coming!!!

Okay, so maybe I'm exaggerating just a bit. Certainly Jesus' birthday and the 4th of July must top it but hey, I really look forward to July 9th.  Do you know what happens on July 9th?

It's dress like a cow day and get FREE Chick Fila!  I love this day so much that I dressed my trio up in cow costumes for lunch (FREE!) and then again for dinner.  Even hubby dressed up for dinner.  Really, can you beat two free Chick Fila meals?  It's by far my favorite restaurant and it tastes even better when it's free.

Get those costumes together and hit the local Chick Fila for at least one free meal!

Alert! Kellogg’s Cereal Recall!

Our family goes through cereal like it is going out of style!  And Kellogg's has recently had some great sales/deals.  All of our stash is already gone (just finished the last Pops this morning) but this post from Bargain Briana, certainly caught my attention. Kellogg’s has identified a substance in the package liners that can produce an uncharacteristic waxy-like off taste and smell. Kellogg’s claims the potential for serious health problems is low but that you should not eat the recalled products because of temporary symptoms such as nausea and diarrhea.

The recall includes Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, and Honey Smacks that have been sold around the country. Only products with the letters “KN” following the words “better if used before date” are included in the recall. If you have any of these cereals in your home, call Kellogg’s at 888-801-4163 for a replacement coupon.  Check out the Alert from Kelloggs here.

Here are some more details:
Kellogg’s Apple Jacks

Caregivers Marketplace

There is a Caregivers Marketplace link listed on our mail-in rebates page.  But I have been meaning to write an actual post about this program.  What a great reminder; this week I received a $10 check from them!    And with the great deal on Cottonelle I got via Medco, I have another one coming soon.  Here is a brief description from their website:

The Caregivers Marketplace™ is the nation's first cash back program for anyone who gives, gets or needs care. You can receive cash back on eligible products that are not typically covered by insurance or Medicare - no matter where you buy them. Our program is free and your information is always kept confidential.

Some products that are include are Cottonelle wipes (that is how I earned $10!), Cortizone creams, Balmex and IcyHot.  Download the rebate form, send it in (with receipts) and wait for your check!

P&G; eSaver Coupons are Back!

P&G eSaver coupons are back!  I just got an e-mail to confirm.  These are ecoupons (like cellfire and shortcuts) that are loaded right onto your shoppers card.  Go to the eSaver site to register. Another reason to shop Kroger affiliate stores!

"Dear Mary,

Beginning June 25, P&GeSAVER coupons can be downloaded to shopper cards for your favorite retailers.

Redeem the current coupons by June 30. Then, look for the next set of P&GeSAVER coupons, available July 1 through August 31.

We value your loyalty to P&GeSAVER, and we are excited to keep delivering the savings you deserve!

Thank you,
The P&GeSAVER Team"

Medco Deals

You (like me, Kristy) may have missed that amazing deal that Mary scored at Medco.  Well, guess what?  It's not too late to get $10 off $10!  Just use the code FIRST10 and you should do quite well on your first order!

Also, your second order might be well worth your while.  Try TENOFF for very sweet deal.

Thanks Money Saving Mom!

Target Deal!

Free shipping...$6.48 for this Dove gift set, shipped!  Engineer a Debt Free Life suggests that it might be a good gift. I say it might be nice in MY bathroom! Great for travel or anything on the go (my life!!!) this is a great deal. This could even work to bring toiletries to the gym!  Don't forget to go through Ebates so you get 3% cash back. If you aren't a member of Ebates yet, you will also get $5 which practically pays for this gift set. How can you beat that?  Also, don't forget to use coupon code MT9ZC7RW on the Target site.

Ah Yea!!!

hiI love this deal! A year or two ago Pepperidge Farm Goldfish went from $1 a bag to over $2 a bag. I'm a person that could LIVE on those things. I really love them. It's been good for the physique that they are now so expensive. =)

Anyway, Kroger (and all stores in the Kroger family) have these on sale for super cheap this week. Guess what? You can find a coupon for these at Pepperide Farm. If your Kroger store doubles, you might get these FREE!!!

Thanks Money Saving Mom!

TP Equation

Since the very beginning of this blog, you have read about our disdain for having to pay for toilet paper- "flushing our money!".  I was reading a great post on Deal Seaking Mom about how to determine a stock up price on TP.  It works by looking at the square footage. If the price is the same or less than the square footage, you should buy it.  This TP equation was submitted by one of her readers, Beth.  And it really does take the guess work out.  No more calculator in the isle trying to decide if the TP is a good deal.  Of course FREE TP is a no brainer.  Get Marcal at Marc's for FREE.  Check out the post and tell us your thoughts!

FREE Burger at Champps!

We are big fans of Champps.  Hubby affectionately calls it Champ-p-ps because of the 2 p's.

You will be too when you hear the deal they have going right now.  All you have to do is LIKE Champps Americana on Facebook and they will send you a coupon for a FREE burger in the next 7-10 days!  Whoohoo!  So get on over to Facebook and secure your free burger!!!

PS. This offer is good through June 30, 2026 or until Champps reaches 100,000 Facebook fans.

FREE!!! Coppertone Face Sticks!

I totally needed these 2 weeks ago but I'm glad I waited and didn't bite the bullet!

You can find these for free at Target (possibly other stores like Walgreens...let us know what you find!)  if you have the $4 off coupon that was in yesterday's paper (SmartSource)!

The coupon expires June 27, 2026 so you better hurry up with this one!

Thanks My Frugal Adventures

Back on the Coupon Wagon!!!

Tonight was a good one...despite fighting with my WI-FI printer for way too long.  I finally got out the door around 9:30pm and went straight to Target!

At Target:  I bought 3 Evolve Ziplocs @ 1.88 each.  I had 2 coupons totaling $1.40 off.  Could have done much better on this one but note the above mentioned war with technology.  I also bought the Scrubbing Bubbles Extend-a-Clean bottle for more than free.  It was $6.99 and I had $8.00 worth of coupons.
My total at Target was $3.50!!!  Yay!  I did have to explain to the whole "manufacturer coupon" versus the "Target coupon" to the cashier who spoke very little English...and may have been hard of hearing.  All was well though when I paid my $3.50 for 4 items.  To make it even better I will be submitting my 3 Ziploc purchases for a rebate of $5 so I made a $1.50.  Imagine what could have been...if the technology gremlins didn't hate me.

At Walgreens:  Hydro Razor...used a $5 coupon and got $4 in Register Rewards.  Equals FREE!!!

At Meijer:  I purchased $47 worth of cereal, cereal bars, Cheez-its, waffles etc for $24!

I just love a day like this!  What was your favorite deal this week???

Staples Rewards

Are you a part of the Staples Rewards program?  A 15% off coupon was just sent out yesterday.  I will be combining it with $12 in Staples Bucks I've acquired through various purchases.  Watch those Staples ads because often they have items that can be purchased and then you receive Staples Bucks to buy whatever you want.  Not a bad deal as many times those items end up free with Staples Bucks!

Falling Off the Coupon Wagon

Just like anything else, it's not always easy to stick with the coupon habits.  For a year now I've been pretty faithful cutting my coupons, searching for deals and chasing them down.  Lately I've found myself in a coupon funk.  It happens to the best of us right?

There are just some days/weeks that I'd rather head to the store, buy my store brand generics and hit up Costco instead of couponing, stockpiling and deal-making.  It's easy to feel that guilt trip as the cashier asks me, "Do you have any coupons?".  No, I mumble as I hang my head.

No guilt people.  It's okay.  We'd like to be on the coupon wagon every week all year long.  We'd like to plan well and be ready to stockpile but in reality it's just not always that easy.  Sometimes swim team, tball, a family trip and Vacation Bible School prevent us from the very best deals for the week.

I'm here to tell you (and me) that it's okay.  Yep, I could have saved a couple more dollars the other day at the grocery but in reality, it's better that my kids have the necessary items they need for the week than if I put off the trip for another day or two until I'm ready with my deals, steals and coupons.

So, my coupon friends, while it feels great to get amazing deals and watch the total on the register go DOWN DOWN DOWN, sometimes it feels just as good to run to the store, buy what you need and not worry so much about the deals you might be missing.  Who's with me?

By the way, I'm climbing back on the coupon wagon.  Here we go.

DSW.com- Shoe Lovers Dream

I love shoes!  And I love even more that many online shoe retailers are now offering free shipping (and some even offer Free return shipping too!).  With 3 kids in tow it is hard to really enjoy my shoe shopping experience.  Now I can order my shoes online, try them out at home, and return the ones I don't want.  DSW.com is great for many reasons: 1. rewards program that allows you to earn points that in turn become gift certificates, 2. they allow you to stack up to 3 promo codes at a time, 3. they often offer free with purchase items (I have gotten a suede hobo bag and reusable shopping tote).  So forget window shopping and do some screen shopping at DSW.com today.  Use these promo codes: BOTTLE- for a free fitness set (w/$29.95 purchase), FREESHIP- explains self, and 978 for triple rewards points.

I bought the very cute Madden Girl Whoppi Wedge for only $21 after rewards and promos (+ the free fitness set).  What did you get?

UPDATE ON THIS POST:  DSW is offering $10 off a purchase of $49 and $20 off a purchase of $99.  This could make a great deal if you are needing to stock up on Summer shoes.  I always try to buy ahead for the following season so I will be watching all Summer for great Summer shoes for myself and my kids!  By the way, to get this deal, become a rewards member of DSW (free and easy) and you will be rewarded with a code.  The rewards program keeps track of your purchases and after just a few pairs of shoes, DSW sent me $10 to spend!  LOVE LOVE LOVE DSW!  Also, be sure to buy DSW ONLINE and use Ebates or another rebate source to get the very best deal.  Often I try shoes on at DSW and then buy online.  I usually get 2 pairs of shoes online for what I would have spent in the store.  Hit RetailMeNot for more promo codes!
