Wouldn't You Like to be a Pepper Too!?

I was so excited to see this post from Common Sense with Money!  Go to www.coupons.com and look for a Dr. Pepper banner ad on the right sidebar.  This should allow you to print a Target store coupon for $1 off Dr. Pepper.  You might have to refresh the page to get it to load.

What's on your CVS list this week?

Financial Peace University

About a year ago my husband asked me if I would be willing to take a course called Financial Peace University (FPU) that was being offered at our church.  I was very hesitant about it.  My DH is a  type A, MBA and I am a free spirited MSW (social worker).  When it came to talking about our finances; it was definitely like oil and water!  But I could tell he really felt called for us to take this course and implement it into our lives.  I now have to say, I love our budget and I love Dave Ramsey.  You might have noticed the ad in the right sidebar promoting his book Total Money Makeover; he is the the creator of the FPU program.  Dave makes gaining control over you finances, fun, easy to understand and totally attainable.  Our family is now debt free  (other than our house) and learning how to "live like no one else, so that we can LIVE like no one else."

My church will again be offering the FPU curriculum and  I highly recommend the course. Here is some information for the program:

Financial Peace University (FPU) is a life-changing program that teaches you to achieve your financial goals by eliminating debt, saving for the future, and giving like never before. More than one million families have attended FPU with amazing results, including over 130 families from Worthington Christian Church so far. You will be challenged and motivated to make a plan for your money and change your family tree forever!  FPU is a 13-session series that begins next month. We will meet on Sunday evenings from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM from September 12 through December 12. The cost is $99 per household for a lifetime membership to the class. Previous class members are always welcome to join us!

Still wondering if Financial Peace University is right for you? Register and attend the first class at NO CHARGE and see what it's all about. If you decide it's not for you, no worries — but we hope you join us!

Sign up today by visiting the FPU website! You may also contact our class coordinator, Mark Henson.

If you do not live in Central Ohio, or cannot make the class at this time, please check the FPU website for other course locations.

New Recycle Bank Codes

A while back I posted about a rewards program called Recycle Bank.  Right now www.whosaidnothinginlifeisfree.com is offering a special code worth 15 points:  WHOSAIDNO15 (select RecycleBank Insider from the drop down menu under the code window). You should actually be able to enter this code 5 separate times for a total of 65 points.

If you haven't already, make sure to also enter code: TakeSmallSteps and select Marcal in the drop down window to get another 15 points and sign up for the Ebay Green Team and get another 50 points.  Now you should have enough to browse the coupon rewards.  Find the coupons by clicking on Get Rewards and then choosing "Grocery & Food" from the left side.  I think I will be cashing in on the $1 off Coke coupon for 75 pts.  The B1G1 CVS green tag is also a great option.  Use one for yourself and give one as gift.  I have already saved $9 this year with this program.

What Recycle Bank reward will you be cashing in on?

Rumor Has It...Tip for the Day!

One faithful reader Sarah emailed to say that she found Garnier Face Wash for .14 cents at CVS.  Yes!  .14 cents.  She found it on CLEARANCE and she paired the sale with a $3 coupon that she found in Red Plum.  Be sure to use the $5 off a $25 purchase coupon that was sent via CVS email.  If you aren't on their mailing list and email club, join today!

Hot! Groupon: $25 for $50 Worth of Apparel at GAP

If you have never tried Groupon, today might be the day to start!  They are offering a $50 GAP gift certificate for only $25!  For $25, you get $50 worth of apparel and accessories, including sale items, purchased in-store at Gap, which has hundreds of locations nationwide. Today's Groupon is not valid for online or previous purchases, or at Gap Outlet, Gap Factory, or Gap Generation stores.  This Groupon expires Nov 19, 2010; great for Back to School shopping or even early Christmas shopping.  Looks like you might have to pay extra for the tax.  And from what I can see it does not exclude you from using coupons, so you could save even more!  There is a limit of one GC per person.

Are you Grouponing today?
