In the world of the serious couponer, brand loyalty is sometimes hard to come by.  If you are truly wanting to be price sensitive, then you often have to change brands to go along with coupons and sales.  And store brands are often found on the shelves of my pantry.  However, if you do find a brand that you can't do without, it is possible to have your cake and eat it too. 

Or should I say tomato.  We recently were contacted by a representative from Red Gold.  I have purchased their canned tomatoes in the past and knew it was a good product.  When my sample pack came (I was first surprised by it's generosity and of course my boys had to open the car!) I knew right away what meal I would be making to write this review, Chicken Tortilla Soup (a fave of my hubby).  Right away when you open a Red Gold can you can see the quality in the plump, bright red tomatoes.  I used a can of regular diced tomatoes and Chili Ready Tomatoes with Onions (from my pantry).  It was delish!  I really appreciate the quality and variety of products from Red Gold.  In fact, I might even say I would be willing to pay a few cents more to get a Red Gold product (and you know that means alot coming from me!).  But thankfully, Red Gold knows the value of saving money!  Right now you can get coupon for $1/4 Red Gold products.  Kroger often includes them in their mega events.  So print them now and save for a wonderful meal later!

Give and Get!

I posted earlier regarding the blood drive that was going on in a Central Ohio suburb.  It was advertised that for every person who gives blood, s/he will get a $10 gift card to a local pub.  Little did we know it got even better.  Here is what my husband raked in for 30 minutes of his time.

One take and bake pizza from Papa Murphy's, one burrito bowl from Chipotle, 2 free Jersey Mike subs, one $10 gift card from the Rusty Bucket and a medical pack from the American Red Cross.  All for doing something good.  Check the American Red Cross for blood drives in your area. Often there are fun "kick-backs" like the goodies above but if not, you've saved a life.  So get out there and give blood!
*Note: I personally am unable to give blood so whenever I want to give to my community I send my husband in my stead. That works, right?
